# TrunkBeam

> German phone numbers, SIP and call transfers for voice agents. Connect your AI stack, configure hold music and help shape the product. Request early access.

## What it is
- Telephony infrastructure for voice AI providers and developers, starting with German phone numbers (local area codes like 030 Berlin, 089 Munich, 040 Hamburg).
- The documented interface is a draft: ordering and management via CLI (`trunkbeam`), an MCP server (`@trunkbeam/mcp`) or a REST API. Interface details may change during early access.
- SIP integrations include Vapi, Retell AI, ElevenLabs, Synthflow, Bland, LiveKit, Pipecat, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH and custom SIP stacks. Supported transfer modes are confirmed for each integration.
- Company and address verification during onboarding; local numbers require a corresponding local-area connection.
- Available transfer features: blind transfer, or transfer with an availability check and return to the agent when the target is unavailable. Hold music for the waiting phase is configurable. Access to the platform is via early access.
- Fair pricing with a clear breakdown. We itemize phone numbers, call minutes and other services so you can understand your telephony costs. Public rates have not been finalized yet. We agree the prices and billing rules for your setup with you before you start. Business customers (B2B) only.

## Why we’re building TrunkBeam
We’re Robert and Noah. The providers we tried made setup far too complicated for us. We had to click through their interfaces and configure phone numbers and routing by hand.

We couldn’t find a CLI and MCP server that let us manage our entire telephony setup. So we decided to build our own platform, TrunkBeam, around voice agents and workflows we could automate from the start.

Fair pricing is part of that. You should be able to see what you’re paying for, with a clear breakdown of phone numbers, call minutes and other services.

- What is TrunkBeam? TrunkBeam connects voice agents to the telephone network. We provide German business customers with phone numbers and SIP routing. You build the agent and conversation logic; we connect your stack. AI-native means these workflows have shaped the product from the start.
- Which voice platforms can I connect? We support SIP connectivity for Vapi, Retell AI, ElevenLabs, Synthflow and Bland, as well as frameworks such as LiveKit and Pipecat. You can also connect Asterisk, FreeSWITCH and custom SIP stacks. If your platform is missing, talk to us about the integration. We check supported transfer modes for your specific setup.
- Does TrunkBeam support HD voice? Yes. TrunkBeam supports HD voice with the G.722 wideband codec. Your device, voice platform and the entire call path must support HD audio, and a suitable codec must be negotiated on the SIP connection. A narrowband leg, such as G.711, limits voice quality. An HD-capable phone alone does not guarantee HD audio on every call.
- What happens if nobody answers a transfer? Choose between two available transfer modes. A blind transfer hands the call directly to the destination. With an availability check, the caller waits while the destination rings. If the line is busy or no one answers, your agent resumes the conversation.
- Can I configure the hold music? Yes. You can choose from different hold music options and configure the music for the waiting phase. Callers hear your selection while we check whether someone answers at the destination.
- Is TrunkBeam an alternative to Twilio? You can consider TrunkBeam for German phone numbers and SIP connectivity for your voice agents. Our focus is on voice AI workflows, call transfers and working directly with your team. Twilio also offers SIP trunking and a voice AI product, ConversationRelay. Whether a switch fits depends on the countries, features and integrations you need. TrunkBeam does not replace the full Twilio offering. - Can I request integrations and share feedback? Yes. You work directly with Robert and Noah. We listen to your feedback, discuss the technical requirements and agree on next steps. Working closely with you helps us ship improvements quickly. Delivery dates are agreed for each request.
- How do I get access? TrunkBeam is in early access. Request access through the form and tell us which voice platform you use. We’ll discuss the integration, commercial terms and onboarding with your team. Blind transfer, availability checks and configurable hold music are already available.
- How much does TrunkBeam cost? We aim for fair, understandable pricing. We itemize phone numbers, call minutes and other services so you can see how your costs add up. Public rates have not been finalized yet. We agree the prices and billing rules for your setup with you before you start.
- Which numbers are available and what is verified? We are starting with German local numbers and national 032 numbers. A local number requires a connection to the corresponding local area. We review the required company and address information during onboarding. Mobile numbers are not currently offered.
